The ACTR volunteer workers were in place early at Knoxville Harley-Davidson to kick off the 10th Annual Anderson County Toy Run "For the Kids". |
Cindy, Tammy, Jan, and others worked at selling ACTR T-shirts, hats, pins, and other items. |
Would you buy a used car from these folks? How about a chance to win a new H-D 883 Sportster? |
The closer it got to 1:00pm the more bikes that appeared. |
The Knoxville H-D parking lot was full of bikes and riders from all around the area. |
It looks like this year will be another well attended event. |
I'll bet you didn't know that Santa rides a Harley. |
OK, saddle up and let's get ready to roll! |
Fuzzy Claus, Miss Tammy, Clyde and Cammie are ready to go. |
Alright, we're on the road with about 135 motorcycles. |
From the middle of the pack, it looks like an impressive parade. |
A police escort leads the riders down Warehouse Road. |
And the final leg of the ride.... |
up the back road and...... |
into the parking lot at the Backroads Grill and Pub. |
Welcome, riders! We've been waiting for you. |
Ellen is here to collect toys and donations. |
There is cold beer and a party going on inside. |
And outside the line up begins for a bike show. |
Looks like there are lots of beautiful bike entries and observers. |
Also, plenty of food: smoked pork, BBQ chicken, baked beans, and lots more. Thank you, Jack Terry for the excellent spread. |
|
< --- Boxer shorts! Very sexy! "Want 50-50 tickets, big boy?"
Bikers? Party? Hey, we're just proud to be here! |
Well it looks like folks are getting set for the auction and there are lots of nice things to bid on as well as some really great door prizes. |
Mary and Carla are having a good time. |
It looks like the grand prize drawing is getting close. |
In just a few minutes, some lucky person will win a 2001 H-D 883 Sportster. |
The band, Dejavu, played for the event |
and some danced |
while others partied, |
and partied, |
and danced, |
and partied. |
The ACTR, Inc. Committee and the winner of the 2001 Sportster. |
The ACTR, Inc. Officers and the winner of the 2001 Sportster. |
And this is happy Joe Reed, the winner of the 2001 Sportster. It only cost him five bucks! |
|
The Anderson County Toy Run, Inc. raised nearly $8,700 during this event to bring the total for the year to about $30,000 for the kids of Anderson county this Christmas. Congratulations to all. Great job! |
